The Effects of Synaptic Response on Learning and Memory in Rats

Researchers used electrophysiological methods to study rats. They recorded the synaptic response in the striatum as the animal was learning a new task. And what we saw was that the synapses from the auditory cortex to the auditory striatum started off small, but they got stronger over time. We could watch that memory form as the animal learned the task. It's an experiment that involves a behavior that is related to sound.
