Marxist State Theory and Finance Capitalism

This chapter examines the role of the state within capitalist systems, arguing that the state actively facilitates and regulates financial markets, often at the expense of working-class interests. It critiques traditional binaries of public and private sectors and emphasizes the potential for state institutions to either empower or hinder societal progress. Ultimately, the chapter advocates for the creation of democratically-run institutions that prioritize the needs of the working class amidst the challenges of financialization.
