The Importance of Penance

Penance is making up for what we have done that has gone against the law of God or has wounded God to speak in a kind of metaphorical book, real way. There's also the sense that as human beings, we learn from the bodily and then grow in spiritual habits. So you hear penances sometimes referred to as asceticism. And asceticism just means training. We need to be trained in the Christian life. I don't know if waxing eloquent is in my wheelhouse, but we'll try it.
