The Cultural Third Gender in India

Hijras are castrated men who can be used as a safety net for women. The hijra community has always been very forthcoming in recruiting these boys into their community so to speak. Some of them are forced into it due to poverty and due to probably being a feminine nature or family basically just gives them up to the community.
