Machine Learning - Prediction and Explanation
In the PLS, chi squares and RMS are used to make predictions. In machine learning, you can have a prediction model that is more like an explanation. That's not as much of what we might think of as an explanation where we keep Karl Popper's corpse happy. This extends to all different types of models: exogenous constructs going to an endogenous construct or mediated kinds of systems.
