The Importance of Internal Open Source Models in Engineering
I love the open source, inner source model. We've been trying to encourage contribution. It is tough because people still think like, oh, I didn't know I could. Or do I have to wait for your team to review the PR and stuff like that? But it can absolutely be a bottleneck. If one central team has, of course, all of the users and teams that are leveraging the system and you've got to wait foryour feature to be up next. So that is the downside of not having that ability and control over over changes and priorities all the time. And so when there are those extra steps process that can feel daunting, I definitely see that in the past.
