The Dollar World Today Is Sustaining Other People
Every time this happens, we choose to enact policies that benefit us and sacrifice the rest. The dollar world today is sustained by and at the expense of other people and other parts of the world. So now we had this long era of zerp, right? And coming out of it, Powell is gonna do his Volcker thing and we got rates going from 0.3% Fed funds to what is probably gonna be 5%. Like there was probably gonna be another 25 point basis point hike on the table hereprobably. So we're going from 0-3 to 5, which is breaking stuff.
