The Stumbling Language in the Old Testament

In psalm one 18, verse 22, the stone the builders rejected has become the capstone. This motif runs throughout all of matthew, and it runs throughout the old testament as well. Any time this stumbling language comes up regarding people not knowing what to do with jesus,. it's connected to this idea of him being this corner stone. He who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces, but he on whom it falls will be crushed. And for a moment, that means that the disciples are going to be like the individual represented by the rocky soil in matthew chapter 13. But since he has no root, he only lasts for a short time.
