The differences that there are, which many people celebrate between Scotland, England, Wales, Northern Ireland, and so on, those differences have become deep divisions. A wedge has been driven between different parts of the Union by this. It is a narrow cabal of public school, mainly boys with a few outriders on the cultural wars like Sweller-Bravarman fighting over who gets the top chair. And we have to ask about our political system that it has rewarded in a way this inward looking battle and the Conservative Party. The media mainly owned by oligarchs and billionaires, many of whom they may tax here, has egged this on for their own profit.
