The Four Projection Fights With BPD
People with BPD often try to avoid feeling bad about their own traits and behaviors by attributing them to someone else, which is the common defense mechanism known as projection. The fear of engulfment is pretty common especially for children of people with BPD. And then unconscious behavior can be like lashing out or pushing away or other strange things that happen when taking a fight. It's really confusing if you are sort of the recipient of that behavior.
