The Emotion Primitive Hypothesis
The book is aimed not at trying to identify what emotion an animal is having, but rather whether its behavior expresses any kind of internal emotion state. There may be emotional behaviors that animals on this planet express that we don't. We think these features are common to many different types of emotion in a given animal and also shared by similar emotions across animal species.
