In August 1941, Hitler's operation Barbarossa was well underway. The Wehrmacht had begun to find itself bogged down though. As the winter approached, the Red Army prepared its first of many counter-attacks. At this moment, Hitler got sick. For the first time in years, he was too ill to properly work. He ordered his doctor to fix him immediately.
