Nigerians Want to Expanse Their Fossil Fuel Operations
An l and g plant is expected to operate for at least 25 years if we build them now, how much harder will it be to close them again in the future? If you're expanding a fossil fuel industry, you're also expanding a political constituency that's going to lobby for more of this. Nigeria has another reason for wanting to expand its fossil fuel operations. According to the world bank, forty five % of people in the country still don't have access to electric power. Many people turn to desil generators which are worse for the climate than burning gas would be.
