With the hair, you have more flexibility for time period. But it's less reliable because the amount of steroids per unit of tissue is smaller. For a non-hypothyroid person, both hair and nail will probably work equally well. Here you may get a lot of blank results simply because hair absorbs a lot less from the blood.
