i was trained to think about anxiety according to the d s m, the diagnostic statistical manual. If they're feeling anxious, in my book, that's anxiety. And i don't really need to see if they meet criteria for clinical anxiety,. Because it's not going to change how we approach it. It's avoidable and preventable. I'm just taking this inventory of our whole lives being anxious. But sometimes it's actually a shuoker issue or chronic slep deprivation. That term can be a little bit triggering because it feels invalidating. So i really think about anxiety as false anxiety and true anxiety and false anxiety.
