Niantic is a company that makes augmented reality games. One employee at Niantic used spoofing to trick his phone into thinking he was in another location than where he really was. This could be something they would have to deal with further down the road, says deluxe.com's John Defterios. The team also created an app called Field Trip which helps people explore places off their normal beaten path.
