What's the Definition of the Internet?

As an internet history geek, i knew absolutely nothing about compu serve. But if we're standing in 20 22 and looking back, the things that are happening on compy serve are critically important to the history of the practices that we undertake to day. The reason they wouldn't have been considered part of internet history is because they weren't part of a version of the internet that's defined by its technical interastructure.
