The Prophets Anticipate the Coming of a New Covenant
Davidic kings never do any of this, right? They're eventually cut off. The Davidic house is cut off. It's treated as a great tree that's locked down. This is Isaiah six and Isaiah 11. And he'll provide a king who will be the son of God, but not merely a human son, but one who's identified with God himself. That's how it comes into the New Testament. Jesus is the eternal son who now takes on our humanity and fulfills the role of David and of Israel and of Abraham and of Adam ultimately.
