Sasse has been MIA in the Senate as far as I can tell publicly. The ranks of decent high IQ senators has plummeted more than the numerical 1% that he represented. What I just can't get my head around is the sort of vitriol and nastiness that has come from some of the sort of purer than now, never Trump types. But there's a reason why Donald Trump despises Mitch McConnell for not playing along with the Trumpy stuff.
