The High Court Approves the WA Legislation in Farden
The High Court says it's up to the WA Parliament to decide what a serious offense is. So we have moved from a world where offenses are narrowly defined sexual offenses, perhaps terrorism offenses, to this omnibus category of serious offenses which could include a whole list of wrongdoings that are not subject to district limits posed by earlier legislation. We see what was legislation initially applying to a very narrow category of offenders now expanding to a much, much wider category of offenders.
