Why Would Anyone Sell Yen?
The rate of exchange between the dollar and the yen was, as it was for a long time, 300 ty yen to the dollar. The fewer yen you get for a dollar, the more ensif japanese goods are to Americans. And so the effect of this would have to be that the yen would rise in price.
