If you were to take US COVID deaths and scaled it up to China's population, you would be talking 4 to 5 million deaths on if the US per capita rate was transferred to China. So they put a bunch of effort into getting country vaccinated. They got vaccination rates up to 80% or so for two shots. And they've kind of lost effort with the booster campaign. The booster rate is not high and it was difficult to get elderly people vaccinated in particular because a lot of them live in the countryside.
