The Importance of Inclusionary Zoning
I think of inclusionary zoning like I think of rent control where there are ways of doing it right that in this case housing units built. Having incentives that cover some of the cost of these programs so maybe some sort of property tax relief or additional density is one way to make these things work. You know one of the problems though is that of course so often these things get politicized and folks say well we want to hire a percentage of units but then there's not actually the economics to make those things pencil.
