The Great Rebellion of Songhai
Malian king musa the second, died in 13 87. He must have been determined to crush this rebellion. Immediately despatched the great malian army to restore order in the east. They recaptured takeda, an important copper mining town in the north. But when they reached gao, the newly formed kingdom of songhai put up a much greater fight. This war wouldn't end on the battlefield, but with the endless churn of royal murders that had swept the empire.
