The Effects of Acetaminophen on Inflammation
Tylenol doesn't affect our inflammatory pathways at all. And yet it still mediates both pain and fever, but by a different mechanism than things like ibuprofen and aspirin. There are three main pathways by which acetaminophen probably exerts its effects. One of them does in fact involve Cox, cyclooxygenase. Acetaminophen seems to only do this in our central nervous system,. Not in all the cells in our body like most Cox inhibitors.
