Matt Welch: In 2010, President Obama started a big push to house homeless veterans. He says the VA secretary promised that all vets would be housed by November 1st. That date came and went with no progress on housing or ending veteran homelessness in LA County. Welch: The Biden administration stepped in when there was a second homicide at one of the camps.
When the Veterans Administration failed to build the homes it promised, unhoused vets built a tent city across the street — in one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in Los Angeles. KCRW’s Anna Scott tells their story in “City of Tents: Veterans Row.”
