A variety of Finfluencers exist in today's markets, ranging from simple celebrities that draw people's attention like Kim Kardashian to corporate personalities like Elon Musk and Ryan Cohen. In 2000 the SEC settled a case with a 15 year old boy Jonathan LeBedd regarding a stock market manipulation scheme which he pumped and dumped thinly traded microcap stocks on Yahoo Finance message boards.
