How to Use Parallelism in a Query
When we're talking about this, we're probably talking about looking at explain plans. So we get information about parallelism through explain. No, analyze buffer. Yes. But initially, just explain, you can see whether the planner is going to use exactly how many workers it will request as well. And when planner chooses plan, it only takes two kinds of input besides query itself: statistics for all tables involved and second, plan your settings and workmen.
