This is how you know that the chain smokers don't actually care about music. The cultural weight of that moment is when you start trying to figure out how you can do a hologram of Pablo Picasso and have him accept the award. If we had waited another three years, there would have been no point in doing this because there is no chance that these guys will still be relevant in three years. What they are doing has an even shorter shelf life than Justin Bieber. He can at least pivot between genres as someone who can sing. These guys have absolutely nowhere to go from here.
