The Role of Land Trusts in Asset Protection and Anonymity

Back in 1982, there was an act passed called the Garn St. Tremaine Depository Institutions Act. It allows you to transfer title on property that has mortgage financing without alarming or triggering what's called the do on sale clause. So now you can use a land trust, but it doesn't provide asset protection. And now you can take that land trust and have your LLC own the land trust that owns the property.
