What Paul Means in 1 Peter 4 1 Is Christ's Death

In Romans six, Paul says that our old self was crucified with Christ in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing. That's very close to Peter saying, whoever has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin. We are an essentially new person in Christ and the mark of the newness is that we make war on it and we put it to death by the spirit.
