John Kipple's Theology of Love
John kipple was a paradoxical figure, because in the sixties and seventies, there were no lay theologians. He argued on the basis of covenent theology that when you renew the covenent in receiving holy eucharist, you don't, you can't spit it out. And even more in the marital act, when you renew your covenent with your bride, why would you do that and then deliberately prevent that life giving love from having its consequences? "It wasn't an argument that just pinned me down and counted a ten, and i was beaten into it," he says.
