The Turkic Invasion of India

There have been times when India was not unified under a single emperor or empire, and you had lots of different various kings and kingdoms. So the Turks got India at the wrong time when it was not politically united. If India was politically united under a king like Ashoka, there is no way the Turkic invasions would have succeeded. There would have been smashed out of existence. Even someone, even the most ruthless and barbaric invader, like Alexander the Greek, he wanted to invade India,. But India was unified under the Nanda empire at the time, and the invasion was a miserable failure.
