Most of language acquisition and proficiency is implicit, that most of it you just get without sitting down and learning it. In general, languages are still taught in the way that we think we should teach the grammar rules first, and then the communication can come later. I don't see any logic in that. If we're just doing loads of grammar drills and then saying, ok, now trying cmmunicate with us. It's important to know that there is a natural order because we need to change our expectations in the class rooms. There is a developmental sequence.
