The Iliad by Plato

Censorship of Homer's Iliad would make the poem garbled and unreadable. Plato thinks that these modes sound like manly men, doing manly things. And lastly, as for Ionian, Ionian or the major scale, he makes no mention of it. He either forgot about it, didn't actually understand the modes of the major Scale, or he couldn't count to seven.
