The Presidential Records Act of 1978

Presidential Records Act was passed in 1978 and goes into effect 1981. It establishes public ownership of all Presidential records for the first time. Allows incumbent President to dispose of records when they no longer have evidentiary value. No wonder Jack the Ripper Smith did not cite it in his 49 pages of indictments.
