Thermal Imaging - Is Space Really Cold?
T space is one of the coldest places that we know about. The issue is that our satellite needs to charge its batteries. So you basely cool the detector. Image on the dark side of the earth, where the sun is lessera wher it's not oviously warming the sufflit any more. And take all the steps you possibly can to minimize the spurious sources of radiation that would be impacting an image.
