i'm presumin that the british government was not aware that the civilians would be taken hostage. They just assume that this would be something that would be safe. Unfortunately, the coati military collapsed like a pack of cards in rather than three to five days. The kaati royal family took off for sadi arabia at the first sign of trouble having left no instructions for the defence of their country. Then they were scattered all over kat and orak.
