The Importance of Data Set Curation in Machine Learning

The idea of acknowledging that we can get superior model performance by paying more attention to what's going on in our data is the guiding principle. Data set curation is a pretty underappreciated and certainly an under-resourced kind of category within MLOps. I think it really does beg the question why wasn't this phenomenon or philosophy around machine learning earlier? It has taken 10 years since Alex Knapp for us to kind of come to this idea that data is key.
