The FIS and President Budyaf
Mohammed Budyaf was president of Algeria from 1992 to 1993. He fell out with the leadership after the 1965 coup so he went into Morocco for exile for almost 30 years and then they said to him okay come back always forgiven you know we know that you've been away for 30 years but nevertheless come back to rescue the countryfrom its impending doom. The FIS militants considered this to be an act of war and a thousand FIS militants took to the mountains and went into the desert and prepared for everything. They were killed by Islamist militants who had been mobilized in the deserts and in the mountains began carrying out a wave of assassinations intellectuals professors writers all French speaking.
