WebAssembly is a very minimal and secure language. It simplifies the security that we have to put into place, but for running your code. You can also make it be really fast to spin up WebAssembly applications as well. So it takes us 50 microseconds to spin up a customer's WebAssembly application. There's no like cold boot or like cold start or hot start or warming up. And we don't reuse instances either, which is something that you'll see on like the other platforms or like Lambda.
In this supper club episode of Syntax, Wes and Scott talk with Jake Champion about his work with Fastly and Polyfill, the difference between WASY and WASM, what Winter CG is, and what makes Fastly different.
