What Is a Prophetic Word?

I want to be the sort of person who steps out and risks when i think it's god saying something to me and through me. The most important thing is that we're motivated by love. This is what paul is saying to the church in corinth. He doesn't say, pursue prophecy and desire to be loving. We have to weigh and test and judge what we think may be a prophetic word. I wonder if our maturity in this season could be measured in our skiness, just willing to step out.
