Magellan's Straight
A little over one year after departing Spain, Magellan had found his straight. The strait itself is many miles wide at times and about a mile wide at its narrowest point. Due to the great depth, the ships often could not drop anchor. It can't be stressed enough how hazardous the journey was for the Armada through the strait.
