Bi pedalism, or walking about on two legs is one of humanity's defining characteristics. But like so many of the things that make us us, exactly when this mode of getting about evolved is unknown. A new paper suggests it may have been several million years ago in what is perhaps one of the most ancient hominins yet discovered.
