What Is Empiricism?
In the six, fifth and fourth centuries in classical grece, when you had the first enlightenment. We just meant that people began to explain natural phenomenon according to a system of reason rather than zeus or the gods. And it's evident in thucydides classical description of the athenian plague in book two of his history o the peloponnesian war. It's empiricism. So when you are confronted with a medical challenge as a doctor, you don't just put them in the temple of esclethias and pray,. You know, have them fast, or take a narcotic or a elucigenic - then maye the snake comes in.
