The Challenges of Diagnosing High Masking Autistic Women

Not all autistic people can fit that stereotypical portrayal of autism as per how it's portrayed in mainstream media. People who have been going for so long, they refuse to believe there's anything more to learn and therefore don't do their job effectively. Some autistic women can develop what we class as high masking skills - the ability to camouflage or suppress autistic traits. They're blending into their neurotypical peers. As a result of that, the hiding and the blending in, that can make it even harder to diagnose them as an autistic person.
