The Benefits of Alcohol for Creatures

Alcohol is short-acting and doseable. It has very consistent effects across different people. One function of alcohol is to make us more creative temporarily. And also, crucially, kind of creative in a group sense. The other thing alcohol is doing is helping us get past cooperation dilemmas. In impairing the prefrontal cortex, it's making it harder for us to lie. Also boosting these hormones like serotonin and endorphins that make us more trusting with other people.
