Using a Metal Detector
There are 400,000 protected sites and buildings in england alone. The vast majority of those are owned by the public. We've had to do a lot of work recently with magnet fishing. This is a novel way of using a metal detecting vosebecause a magnet is a metal detector. But these are very, very magnets. Not only are they doing it without permission, but they're bringing up noxious chemicals. They're also bringing up dangerous objects,. In particular, live ordnance, hand grenades. It's only historic england that can give you a license. So we've got to do a big education piece on that chance.
