The Rise of Childlessness in the United States
We're not experiencing like epidemic levels of, of childlessness. We're relatively on par with trends going back a century or more. The bulk of this fertility rate decline in the United States at least is driven by people who have children having less kids. There's way more people now than in the 1970s that are having one or two children and there's way less people that are having four or more. But when it's a status symbol to have kids, some percentage of people have kids that otherwise wouldn't.
