The Importance of Diversifying the Portfolio

We live in a globalised interconnected world which means that certain types of existential risks can propagate throughout the entire system. In order to mitigate those risks, we should diversify the portfolio so to speak that is colonised other planets potentially even other star systems. There's not enough diversity locally and it may be that if you can get anywhere outside of where you thought you were trapped, then our problems are going to course through the universe as we go to new worlds.
